About Our Maker Faire

UPDATE Friday, April 10, 2020

After much discussion among the Maker Faire Planning Committee and Exploration Place staff, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Wichita Maker Faire.

This was not an easy decision and one we don’t take lightly. Like all of you, we want the Faire to be as successful as possible and didn’t feel that it could be done in 2020.

We know that we will come back bigger and better than ever ready to make great things happen in 2021!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

With heavy hearts, Exploration Place and MakeICT have decided to postpone the 2020 Wichita Maker Faire.

The safety of our Makers, visitors, volunteers, and staff is of the utmost importance. Postponing this event will reduce the potential of transmission in the lively hands-on environment that is encouraged at Maker Faire.

Details will follow about the new Maker Faire dates.

All applications that have already been accepted will retain their acceptance for the new date to be announced soon.

For questions about Maker Faire or your application please contact Taylor Erb at Taylor.Erb@exploration.org or call 316.660.0677.

Maker Faire originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of Make: magazine.  It has since grown into a significant worldwide network of both flagship and independently-produced events.  Read more on Maker Faire history, the Maker Movement, as well as how to start a Maker Faire or a School Maker Faire where you live.
